Trip to R.W.DeKorte Park

We took a trip over to the Richard W. DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst NJ. The resource center was closed bythe time we got there but we were still abl to walk the grounds. As we walked we found an area which gives you aa great view of the NYC skyline. They have a great gazebo with different animals food chains carved into the wood. I wish I had brought some paper and crayons for rubbings but there is always next time.

We explored most of the trails and my head was full of ideas for activities we can do next time we go there. It will be great to have a nature scavenger hunt and to do rubbings and identification exercises there. King had a great time just walking around and talking about what he saw. Our next time to DeKorte park will be once spring is here since I was told they have an amazing butterfly garden once their flowers bloom.
